MOSPRA Colleague Connection Program
Primary Purpose – To provide support, learning and professional growth opportunities for new MOSPRA members by establishing a collaborative, professional relationship with a current MOSPRA member.
Secondary Purpose – The MOSPRA Colleague Connection Program has a number of secondary purposes, which include proactively seeking to

build a support system for new communications/public relations persons

build relationships that last beyond the initial year.

provide a foundation for colleagues to reflect on their practice as communicators.

develop a program where both Colleagues are accountable for learning.

increase attendance at regional meetings.

provide both involved opportunities for professional growth through collaboration.
Length of Formal Program – The Colleague Connection Program will be provided for new members during the first two school semesters of their membership.Implementation – New members will be assigned a current MOSPRA member. The Chairperson will pair new members with current school communications professionals. (Special specific requests will be allowed, i.e., job-alike, similar geographical area, similar district size, similar district demographic, etc.). Once paired, both colleagues will be responsible for setting schedule for interactive collaboration.MOSPRA members will be surveyed by September 15th and asked their willingness to serve as in the Colleague Connection Program. MOSPRA members are not required and should not volunteer if unable to fulfill the criteria.
Recommended Interaction –Minimum of eight phone meetings (4 per semester)
Two additional meetings selected from the following:- MOSPRA or NSPRA Conference

Evaluation – Both participants will be asked to complete an on-line evaluation in June following the first year. Evaluations will be used to make changes and improve the program.
